The Princess Bride’s Carol Kane has been cast as the new engineer on the USS Enterprise for season 2 of Strange New Worlds.

She will have a recurring role as Pelia. “Highly educated and intelligent, this engineer suffers no fools. Pelia solves problems calmly and brusquely, thanks to her many years of experience.”

A clip from the new season was also released as part of the Star Trek Day celebrations, although no indication has yet been given as to its release date. (Given Picard starts mid-February for a 10 episode run, somewhere round early May would seem likely.)
