Stormtroopers and a whole bunch of romantic duos.

First Harry and Helen, a solid couple, nonetheless choose the most dangerous moments of the mission to evaluate their relationship. Off again/on again Maria and Luther, now off again, bicker and literally run into each other because he’s dating a cutie from another department. Gib likewise tries to reconnect with the sweetie who dumped him because she didn’t appreciate dating his phone.

As if that’s not enough, we meet Sharon and Arnie, two former Omega spies who left the business and vanished over fifteen years ago. Naturally they hate and love each other and make endless dire predictions about how things will go horribly wrong for Harry and Helen before falling into the inevitable and utterly expected clinch.

The current Omega team searches out the retired spies because someone is murdering the members of their old team. The plot contains absolutely no twists, basically serving as the backdrop against which everyone argues – always at the worst time – about the state of their romances.

The line about a boys’ car and a girls’ car evokes a mild grin, as does the presence of Tom Arnold, Gib from the original movie, as field operative Arnie.

The episode concludes with the requisite firefight during which dozens of baddies with fully automatic weapons manage to hit exactly zero of our heroes. Yet our heroes take out baddie after armor-wearing baddie.

Verdict: The same adolescent ‘humor’ as all the previous episodes. 5/10
