Crosshair is sent to a remote outpost…

We’re back with Crosshair for this episode.

This season Crosshair has been trying to live with the decisions he’s made and the decisions he’s having to make as the Empire entrenches itself and its true fascist agenda comes to light as all those around him suffer miserable fates.

Crosshair’s reason for siding with the Empire was that he believed they were going to win. What he didn’t contend with was that in winning they would see him not simply as expendable but as the enemy, no matter what he did for them.

This arc of his comes to an end with the truth of the matter for minority populations who collude with their oppressors – in the end, once you’ve served the purpose they had for you, they will dispose of you too.

The sorry truth for Crosshair is that it was apparent he knew this was coming but also that he’d trapped himself in a way which meant there was no escape. When he finally turns against the Empire it’s too little, too late and he pays the price.

Verdict: An excellent and really rare exploration of what happens to those who collude with their enemies.

Rating? 8 redundant officers out of 10.
