Craig sets off to give Bing a taste of his own medicine but finds himself in even greater peril, forcing Vic to try to rescue him.

And we’re off towards the conclusion of the first season of Joe Hill’s horror novel. Everyone is coming out swinging, Craig quite literally, as he gives Bing a solid beating. But Manx’s henchman is no pushover, and Vic’s saviour ends up the Wraith’s trunk.

Maggie is coming to terms with her guilt – Sheriff Bly was trying to help her before he was abducted – and Vic is soon on her motorbike, charging towards Manx’s home, the aptly named Sleigh House. The Scrabble tiles have warned her that she’s not ready for this confrontation, but there’s a fire burning behind her bloodshot eyes – Ashleigh Cummings gets better in every episode.

Poor little Bradley is now one of Manx’s vampire kids, alerting his new father to Vic’s presence. It’s a tense scene as she dashed between the rooms of the house, tribe to find the keys to NOS4A2, but Manx has them, and he’s thrown the bike onto the bridge, destroying her means of escape. Zachary Quinto is having a great time as the elder vampire and casually sets his own house on fire to kill Vic.

Verdict: There’s everything to play for as the seemingly immortal Charlie Manx once again gains advantage over his pursuers. As we prepare for the season finale, it’s the ideal opportunity to reflect on what a great show this has been. 8/10
