Clarice zeroes in on the entity behind the River Murders, Alastor Pharmaceuticals. When Julia informs ViCAP of the impending sale of the company, ViCAP rushes to Alastor to prevent the purging of any incriminating evidence.

This is definitely more like it. After two to three episodes of the show treading water (not helped by multiple breaks in the run in this first year) the major plot line is coming to fruition, as well as the secondary thread relating to Clarice’s cloudy memories of her youth.

For once the team are actually doing some profiling – Joe Hudlin is a narcissist desperate for an audience and wants to showcase his work. It’s time for Clarice to confront him again, but Krendler won’t let her go alone. At the same time the team are coming clean to Ruth Martin about their covert investigations, paperwork is being shipped out to the Cayman Islands as part of a new merger. Julia knows she has limited time to get the incriminating evidence before it’s lost, and breaks in to cabinets to grab the files. It’s a tense moment when she’s caught in the office, but ViCAP come to her rescue at the nick of time.

Verdict: The gloves are now off, with both sides aware of the other’s game plans. With two episodes to go, there’s still a lot to be wrapped up, but it promises to be an exciting conclusion. 8/10
