Three siblings must work through their resentments to spread their mom’s ashes and fulfill her last fantasy.

It’s Shirley Valentine meets Sibling Rivalry, the Fantasy Island edition and flashback time this week as we rewind to Elena’s first guest, a woman called Joy, almost finished with child rearing who realises that she put her children’s needs above her own dreams, and finds the courage to start a hugely successful business in her 50s, born out of her hobby.

Cheese central, right? Well firstly if you think that, why are you watching Fantasy Island? Sentimentality is its main schtick. Secondly, wait until you meet the aforementioned empty nester’s children – not exactly the closest set of siblings you’ve ever met.

As we see how Joy’s journey of self-discovery entwined with Elena’s own, we cut back to the present day and a mother’s dying wish that her children might find harmony… who better to help her with that that her long-term friend and business partner (that’s new!) Elena?

Yes, it seems drenched in a little more nostalgic saccharine than usual, but it’s worth it for a childhood game coming disconcertingly to life and the strangely surprising sight of Elena wearing other colours!

Verdict: I blame the parents… 7/10
