A nanny fights to protect the autistic child in her care during a horrifying home invasion.

Four episodes in to this second season of horror shorts and already there’s a theme developing – that of hunter and prey and ultimately switching of roles. This is a well-established trope, and it’s no criticism that the show’ is embracing it, but there’s only so many times that you can say ‘boo’.

Poor Araceli (Greta Crispe) is struggling in life, but she always gives 100% in what she does. She’s overworked, she’s dealing with anxious parents and a troubled child, and let’s not mention her home life. That’s more than enough to deal with, so add a home break-in to the mix and they’ve clearly picked on the wrong person. What follows is a tense story of survival at all odds – Araceli is no hero, but she will do all she can to protect her charge.

Verdict: A familiar tale is garnished with some minor tweaks, but ultimately it’s about the little person fighting back against the oppressor. Well done as far as it goes, but we’ve been here many times before. 6/10
