Now that the Greys have infiltrated the town of Patience can Harry fulfil his newly assigned role as Earth’s saviour?

Quite possibly not, especially as he’s now holding down two jobs. As part of General McCallister’s alien-hunting task force he’s made quite the impression in the week he’s been there, and not in a good way. His attention is focused on new Deputy, and Grey-in-disguise, Joseph Rainier who’s already in Sheriff Thompson’s good books and it’s not long before he gloms onto Asta, potentially putting her in great danger.

There’s quite a lot going on in this episode as it’s filling in the (fictional) week-long gap since the end of the last season, so I’m keeping the fates of some of the characters still hanging from the cliff they were left on. Needless to say things have moved on a little bit and with just eight episodes this season (originally planned as twelve) events should, hopefully, go at something of a lick. Season 2 suffered for its length and being split into two didn’t help.

I have to say that this episode is rather lacking in the humour department and what there is tends to be pretty base. Gags about diarrhoea and penis-selfies have their place I suppose but there’s a lack of the sort of sharp wit we had back in the early days of the show. I used to laugh out loud at this but this week only Judy and her cat really raised a smile.

Verdict: The goalposts have been moved and there’s much to catch up on so it gets a pass for not tickling my funny bone. Hopefully the rest of the season finds the right balance. 7/10
