Foundation’s future is based on the actions of Haber Mallow, but he’s far from being a good man.

Another exciting hour of the Asimov adaptation, here directed by show runner David S Goyer. Picking up from last week, Gaal is still reeling from the discovery that daughter Salvor will die 150 years in the future on a battlefield, while on Terminus the warden has been killed during the opening of Hari Seldon’s tomb, and the only message is to find Haber Mallow.

Haber Mallow is, however, a confidence trickster (a playful Dimitri Leonidas), as witnessed during a sequence where he nearly gets away with stealing the Eye of Korell from a larger-than-life Philip Glenister. Mallow is captured and sentenced to ‘Death by Titan’s Prick’ (a giant spear). Could this mark the end of the Foundation?

The other significant story thread is around disgraced former general Bel Riose (Ben Daniels) who is visited at his prison planet by Demerzel, who offers him amnesty if he is prepared to lead the Imperial fleet against the Foundation.

Verdict: Exciting, intelligent sci-fi that’s constantly adding new building blocks to its narrative. 8/10
