Los Angeles 2009 and the Nexus 5’s host consciousness, Nia Moreaux, plans how to change the tide of public opinion.
The Blade Runner prequel shifts into top gear in this penultimate issue, propelling Nia into the spotlight as she fights her way towards her target. It feels like a suicide mission, and she knows this, but there’s a bigger picture here, as we discover just exactly what’s going on behind the scenes.
The issue plays out as a single set piece, breathlessly pitting Nia against her foes. It’s beautifully plotted, with many panels eschewing dialogue for exciting, dynamic angles by the creative Fernando Dagnino.
Verdict: There’s a lot to pull together in the final issue, but what a thrilling prospect. 8/10
