Going undercover puts Dyson and Bo’s relationship to the test.

Although the Fae mystery of the week allows for a lot of fun moments, it’s really secondary to the ongoing saga of Bo and Dyson’s on/off relationship, which may have started off as purely sexual for both of them, but which has clearly become something more for them both – to the extent that Dyson tells Trick that he’s had enough of lying to Bo, by omission if not commission.

Both Lost Girl and Haven have recently done an “attacked by plants” episode and both prove that it’s not an effect that can be done on the cheap – the plants’ attack looks either like reversed film models or CGI that doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.

The return of Saskia, the succubus who won’t let Bo say no, and the serious conversation between Bo and Dyson about honesty and fighting against their essential natures, do not bode well for the future of the werewolf/succubus couple. Hopefully some of the secrets that Dyson and Trick have been hiding will come into the open – but how will Bo, as well as Kensi, react to the revelations?

Verdict: A mixed episode let down by its effects.

Episode 12: “(Dis)members Only” 6/10
