The fallout of May’s betrayal continues and new players are introduced to the intrigue.

While not as bad as episode 5, the show continues its unfortunate trend of following a good hour with a weaker one. The focus, as the episode title suggests, is on May, who we now discover isn’t May at all, but… no, that would be a spoiler.

Cate and Kentaro are joined by an unlikely ally, older Shaw starts taking control of things and the main Monarch monsters plot shifts along a little. Unfortunately, the show thinks we’re as interested in the young leads as the monsters, again failing to recognise why a lot of viewers are probably tuning in.

Verdict: Hopefully, now that we know all about May, we can get back to the monsters. 6/10
