Lytton and Wilson cross to an alternate London.

After an intriguing first issue, this feels a little like the story is kicking its heels. Our (anti-)heroes travel through an interesting portal to arrive in a world that’s sort of like ours, except that there are different numbers of days in the month (how does that work – we don’t get told) and some very familiar looking officers of the law. Eventually Wilson and Lytton find themselves descending into the bowels of the Underground, where they meet Artemis Brown, who just happens to have a PhD in astrophysics, and a generator that’s probably not a generator.

Baz Renshaw’s painted art continues to create a lived-in, seedy world, and there’s some great evocation of London underground stations, particularly the bits you don’t see in the deeper stations if you use the lift. Saward’s script continues to be minimal, with the action, such as it is, told through the art, and we don’t really get much more of a feel for the two men than we had at the end of last issue – while Artemis doesn’t really get much of a chance to make her mark.

Verdict: Lytton’s latest adventure feels like it’s treading water slightly – a little too early in its run. 6/10
