The Batch search for Omega, who is stuck at the mercy of Cad Bane. But Bane isn’t the only one trying to track down the most diminutive member of the squad.

We finally get some answers this week, among what I assume (not being the most Star Wars conversant of people) are a hell of a lot of easter eggs and references directed at long term franchise fans.

Having lost Omega, the Batch find themselves still stuck with the problem of Crosshair being on their tail – Hunter is reluctant to jump out of the area when Omega could be close by, but that’s the least of their worries. Having analysed Omega’s blood, Tech thinks he’s found out exactly who might be trying to grab their little friend and for what reason, and it isn’t good.

Omega herself meanwhile is busy trying to get herself out of her current predicament, and Bane’s little robotic sidekick Todo 360 may provide her with the route to doing just that. But it isn’t just Bane she has to worry about – another familiar face pops up trying to grab her for themselves. As she runs through the abandoned Kaminoan facility where Bane took her, Omega sees plenty of things to make her fear ever going home again, willingly or otherwise.

The way in which this one plays out overall may not be a big surprise, but the fact that the show goes as dark as it does certainly was (for me at least). The complex game of cat and mouse between the Batch and the new Empire is even further complicated by the inclusion of bounty hunters working for rival factions towards completely different ends, and the ultimate truth about Omega herself proves a further interesting twist to things.

Verdict: Per usual the action is decent and the voice acting provides the requisite charm, sinisterness and excitement where needed. It may not be doing anything particularly groundbreaking, but it’s doing it damned well. 8/10
