Titan Comics, out now
Two months have passed since Ilora launched an all-out attack against the slums and Cal has finally confronted his sister Nia Moreaux, instigator of the Replicant riding that led to the Battle for Sector-6B.
The final issue of the Blade Runner prequel begins by bringing us to date with the story so far and concludes with the missing pieces of the jigsaw falling in to place. Inevitably, because what we know happens next (in the movie Blade Runner) there’s not too many surprises and it’s more a case of ‘ah, that’s finally making an appearance’.
It’s no surprise that the Blade Runner division is set-up, and we also get acquainted with the Voight-Kampff Machine, which is used to try to identify replicants. It’s a solid enough issue, but most of the action has happened in the preceding issues.
Verdict: As an overall lead in to Blade Runner, this has been a solid series, though has never quite reached the heights of its Titan stablemate Blade Runner 2029/2039. 7/10
