Minogue and O’Leary unwittingly free the ghost of an old-fashioned cop from the 1930s. Can they stop him before he shuts down every pub in Wellington?

The Hooters in question are the drivers of the cars honking their horns in the Mount Victoria Tunnel who have unwittingly released the spirit of Constable Miller, who was killed on duty while managing traffic in the 30s. What really upsets O’Leary and Minogue is that he questions their value as officers (we all do!) and cannot believe that females are allowed on the force.

Sergeant Maaku lures the rogue bobby away from the tunnel, though hasn’t actually worked out his endgame. A mutually agreeable truce means that one again the Wellington Police come up with the perfect solution to a problem that they created in the first place. They’re older but no wiser and likely to make the same mistakes over again.

Verdict: This monster of the week is less thrilling than previous weeks’ beasts, but the humour is still consistent and well-observed. Daft fun, and then some. 7/10
