The vampires offer shelter to an old nemesis who’s down on his luck.

We throwback to the events of Season 1’s Manhattan Night Club, where our vampires destroyed the home of the undead king of Manhattan, Simon the Devious (Nick Kroll). He didn’t die in the fiery inferno, but instead has been living in the sewers under NYC.

As before, much of the humour is derived from the leader’s oddball entourage, including hip hop Count Rapula and strange gargoyle-like creature Carol. Unfortunately, Carol senses that Guillermo is a slayer, and even more unfortunately (for her, anyway) he accidentally stakes her. But the most fun revolves around Colin Robinson, who has discovered the energy sucking potential in being a troll on the internet – and then he meets a real, well-endowed troll!

Verdict: Having developed its own mythology in the first season, it’s nice that she show can revisit popular characters and former scenarios. Endlessly inventive, it’s the cleverest first run comedy half hour currently on TV. 8/10
