The magic key lets the teens into Kenji’s father’s penthouse where they hope to find what they need for the boat…

There’s a running theme this season, with Darius’ dinosaur knowledge clearly being out of date, given that we have another occasion where his claims about their behaviour aren’t matched by what the dinos actually do. It’s a good excuse for a very different sort of “cat and mouse” game between the dinosaurs and the humans – it’s similar to sequences in Fallen Kingdom, but in a well-lit environment. Talking of Fallen Kingdom, we know there was roughly six months between the end of Jurassic World and the start of its sequel, which means that events this season are likely to catch up, and there’s a little hint of that with a drone meeting a deserved end at the episode conclusion.

Amongst the well-done chase sequences, there’s some more character development for Kenji who really wants to impress his friends with everything his father has. It’s a shame that this penthouse wasn’t mentioned any earlier – for someone as self-obsessed as Kenji not to bring it up before feels forced – but it does lead to the rather unlikely sight of a fleet of limousines. On a jungle island.

Verdict: Things are starting to look up for the teens. Which is never a good sign. 8/10
