Laszlo and Colin are shipwrecked and Nadja’s doll runs away from home.

Another delightful half hour, which begins with Nadja apologising to Scott Bakula (playing himself) on a Zoom call. It was a case of crossed wires – Nandor though that he was famous vampire Count Bakula!

The story features two plots, both equal in weight. In the first, Nadja’s possessed doll feels like she’s not fitting in with the vampires and decides to run away from home. When the team eventually track her down, the feisty spirit jumps to a mannequin, a statue and eventually a giant inflatable rat.

Meanwhile, Laszlo and Colin Robinson steal a boat so that they can visit Plum, a mysterious place that holds the secrets to Colin’s energy vampire origins. They are lured to the rocks by magical singing and become victims of Sheila (Catherine Cohen) the siren. Colin falls in love with this hideous bird-like creature, while Laszlo turns into a bat and flies away. That’s what friends are for.

Verdict: Either of this week’s plots would be worthy of its own episode, so it’s a treat to be able to enjoy two quality capers, featuring excellent visual effects and killer one-liners. 9/10
