The Imperial fleet arrive at Terminus and the reason behind the Cleon legacy is revealed.

As we move into the endgame of this second season, valuable time is spent taking us back to Trantor over six centuries ago where a curious young prince discovers a fragmented robot that has been buried alone for 18 millennia. It’s a moment we’ve been waiting for, and it doesn’t disappoint.

Cleon and his battle cruiser arrive at Terminus, determined to flex the Empire’s muscles and fight against Hari Seldon’s prophecies of its decline, and while the boastful leader may wield the greater firepower, sacrifices still need to be made.

It’s an action-packed hour, directed by Star Trek stalwart Roxann Dawson and featuring this season’s most impressive visual effects to date. Things will never be the same again.

Verdict: Foundation at it best – big, clever sci-fi ideas, beautifully executed. 9/10
