Harry and d’Arcy are forced to grow closer, while Asta goes on a potentially lethal dinner date.

With Sahar having left Patience, Max has recruited a pair of new followers and declared himself the new Alien Hunter. Armed with his trusty cattle prod his attempts to prove to his new friends that Harry is an alien don’t quite go to plan. Meanwhile his father, Ben, discovers that a small lump on his foot that he’s had since childhood may be worth having Dr Harry take a look at, with possibly traumatic results. Sheriff Thompson’s love life takes a turn for the worse (arguably) while Deputy Baker unknowingly makes a major discovery.

A big improvement on last week’s rather laughter-free instalment, with plenty of flashes of the show’s old comedy chops on display. Having d’Arcy be in on Harry’s secret has given their scenes a big lift and gives her the agency she sorely lacked last year. With a script by Elias Benavidez and direction from Lea Thompson (reunited after season 2’s An Alien in New York) the episode zips along nicely.

Verdict: While, for me, no longer must-watch TV if it keeps up this pace and level of humour it should remain an enjoyable time-passer. 7/10
