Two years after Scott’s death, Lisey must again confront mortality. But this time, she has a plan – and it involves Boo’ya Moon.

Anyone expecting the penultimate episode of this Stephen King adaptation to kick off with the confrontation between heroine Lisey and her stalker Jim Dooley has to be a little patient, as there’s plenty to get through first. For the first time this season, Clive Owen’s Scott Landon takes centre stage (literally) at an event, but collapses after vomiting a fountain of water over audience members at a high profile gig.

Scott was scratched by his brother while they were both children, and this underlying virus has now manifested itself, attacking Scott’s organs and leading to his death. We relive Lisey’s emotions as she comes to terms with this loss, and then gathers her sisters for Dooley’s return. Dane De Haan’s psychopath starts to fray round the edges as Lisey mocks him and forces him into the dreamworld, where she has someone lined up to help her.

Verdict: We’re where we should be at this stage of the proceedings, with everything to play for in the final hour. Julianne Moore continues to hold court and she grounds this fantasy with an honest performance. 7/10
