As Boyd’s condition grows more alarming, Sara’s return to town puts him in a difficult position…

I keep revisiting the score I’m giving From, thinking that with the lack of overarching plot progression it should be lower. However, the individual stories within the show keep me coming back.

I enjoy these lives. I feel their pain. I smile at their triumphs and share their anger. The writing of the characters is great even if the world they’re in continues to frustrate.

We’re almost halfway through the season and I feel as if we’re a long way from knowing anything. We can’t know whether the writers had a long term arc in mind and at some point in the future we’ll look back and say ‘ah!’ with understanding. Even if that’s the case the journey of the story isn’t satisfying me.

Verdict: From remains enjoyable because its central characters have earned their actions and their triumphs but the show is far from joining them in the winners circle. 7/10
