Still at loggerheads over Sammy’s actions, the teens and Bumpy travel underground – but end up in even more danger.

If there was any particular set piece in Jurassic World that people are going to remember, it’s the Mesosaurus coming up out of the lagoon and swallowing one of the main supporting characters. So it’s no real surprise, given that this series is now following the trajectory of the movie, that that’s where the kids end up.

That’s after they witness another key moment as Masrani’s helicopter crashes into the area housing the Pteranodons and they escape. I’m sure I won’t be the only person digging out the Blu-ray of Jurassic World once I’ve finished this first season to see how well they intersect.

Complaining about a geographical anomaly in this franchise is almost as daft as moaning about its science being a bit iffy, but it does seem odd that there’s even the vaguest possibility of people on the underground river experience having the chance to go out into the lagoon particularly given the nature of said lagoon’s inhabitant. Still, we need to get them there, and the race against time to reach the side is very well paced – and the solution in keeping for both the franchise and the characters of the teenagers as established. The interplay between them all continues to be credible with some self-awareness from Kenji notably.

But then the klaxon starts to blare… to the extent it removes the end title music. Things are about to get worse.

Verdict: Some very tense moments in a strong episode. 9/10
