 Rose/Maya’s Baby

Maybe there’s a reason Rose gets on so well with baby Gully – just how did she find this nanny gig in the first place?

I’m realising I have questions – like the one above – that didn’t even occur to me after the first two episodes, they were so rich and well-paced. Now they’re coming thick and fast as we catch glimpses of the vampire lore that Helen Cross has woven ‘off screen’ so to speak. Snatches of news items, brief voicemails exchanged between Rose and her mother, and unexplained gruesome deaths both side of the Atlantic serve to raise the stakes.

As the inevitable girl-group backstabbing and bitchyness begins when Rose throws a lavish pool party, there’s an unexpected guest who, amongst other things, clam-jams Rose and Delphine, much to my disappointment.

Is it just ‘the angry mob’ that the hunted vampires should fear, or something else?

I genuinely do not have a clue, and I absolutely love it.

Verdict: It’s not possible to know where this story is going – I couldn’t even guess. Adding a point just for that. 10/10
