The Batch are sent on a retrieval mission by Sid which proves to be more complicated than they had first thought.

Having apparently sufficiently established themselves in the eyes of Sid as the guys who can get the job done, the Batch are offered a new mission by her – retrieve a Tactical Droid for a mysterious buyer.

This involves a trip to Corellia to grab one of the droids from the huge dismantling facilities there which are busy deconstructing the separatist Droid Armies on behalf of the new Empire. The precise reasoning for the value of the Tactical Droids makes sense, and gives a deeper feel to the galaxy as a whole as well as bit of conflict for our heroes.

That conflict kicks in when they reach Corellia and are confronted with an extra wrinkle in their escapade beyond avoiding the facility’s security. That wrinkle not only stands in the way of their retrieving the droid, but also leads them to question the legitimacy of their mission at all, given on which side they currently find themselves.

Though the thrust of the episode is pretty simple, it’s at the peripheries where there’s lots going on. Wrecker in particular seems to be experiencing ever-increasing issues which suggest that something big is brewing for everyone’s favourite big lug. Omega continues to be equal parts important a valuable member of the squad and child-like liability and there’s a suggestion as the episode closes off that there may be even more shadowy figures in the galaxy who have a specific interest in the Batch.

Verdict: Offers a surprising amount of nuance given the format and time. Getting better week on week. 9/10
