Kate and Osgood travel to Australia to enlist Harry Sullivan’s help – but he has his hands full with Ice Warriors.

Do not adjust your sets – the appearance of Harry Sullivan in moderately contemporary times doesn’t mean you’ve missed something (well it does, but not something you could have listened to yet unless you’ve got a secret tap into the Big Finish Palace). This is Harry in all his unreconstructed glory, something of a fish out of water in his own time, let alone the 21st century, and  accompanied by Naomi Cross for reasons that we’re going to learn eventually. Christopher Naylor and Eleanor Crooks make a very good combination (for obvious reasons, Harry’s usual sparring partner isn’t available) and I look forward to hearing more from them.

They’re by no means the only strong element of this story. John Dorney gives us another viewpoint on the Ice Warriors, threading his way between the various depictions we’ve had of them on screen over the past 50+ years. Olivia Poulet’s leader is a good addition to the ranks (with Poulet contributing another key role as well), and Howard Carter’s sound design is put to the test with the various unusual locales.

Verdict: A fast paced and action packed drama. 9/10
