An unusual lead sets DI Ward in pursuit…

The second episode of Lucy Catherine’s series continues to pose further questions without yet giving us any sort of answers. The sinkhole is more than it seems, and so are a number of the people that Sarah Ward encounters, from a teacher with a diabetic problem to a vicar whose church is on the top floor of the shopping centre – and has seen something that evokes a Don’t Look Now vibe. And that’s before a very unofficial stakeout that leads to a pursuit of something that initially appeared to be a glitch on the recording. Wearing a mask.

Ayesha Antoine gives Ward the vulnerability that the character needs, despite presenting as being back to normal after whatever it was that forced her into sick leave, while Tyger Drew-Honey’ provides Dan with the necessary lack of social graces. Jasmine Hyde’s Lindsey is the character that’s intriguing me most…

Verdict: The links between past, present and future are yet to become clear but this continues to be an intriguing tale. 8/10
