Captain Clark and McEvoy take a space walk to stem the effluent leak, and the ship’s management decide to run a ‘halfway there’ party when they’re nowhere near the midway point.

Picking up directly from last week, Clark steps out into space to do something heroic and hopefully regain the confidence of his passengers. He succeeds and lives to tell the tale, but Karen’s husband Frank is still being unfairly demonised for causing the leak (it was a disconnected button) and at one point it looks like he’s going to be expelled from the ship – ‘Shit him out!’ cry his frenzied fellow passengers. Disaster is averted, but it’s a close call.

Himesh Patel (Yesterday) is good fun as the hapless stand-up comic Jordan, performing the least funny material at the most inappropriate time, and there’s a cheeky subplot about some passengers getting extra horny – there must be something in the oxygen supply!

Verdict: You’d struggle to call the show hilarious, and the hit/miss ratio of the gags is not always favouring the former, but Hugh Laurie is a joy, keeping everything together… just. 7/10
