I Can’t Believe It’s Not The Suicide Squad successfully locate Dante. That is where their success ends. Elsewhere, Felicity tells Laurel something no one else knows. Elsewhen, Mia and William start working together to track down their mom.

ADRIAN PAUL,EVERYONE! I actually cheered when the face of Dante was revealed. Paul is best known for his work as Duncan McLeod in several of the not good Highlander movies and the extremely good Highlander TV show. He’s a great martial artist, has instant charisma, looks good in a suit and suits Dante to a T. What a top choice.

That plot trundles along merrily too, and has some fun fallout. The ongoing issues surrounding Task Force X are a smart way of making real the difficulties of using that concept in the show. I especially liked John taking the hit for Lyla and the reveal on Emiko and Dante working together. Family has always been Oliver’s weak spot and he’s not going to see this one coming.

Elsewhere the Felicity pregnancy plot is handled really well, and ties beautifully into the flashforwards as her two bratty kids find out they get on rather better than they thought. It’s to the show’s credit that it’s well written enough to make it clear Oliver and Felicity were heroes and awful parents at the same time too.

Verdict: Rounded off by an apparent death (which I don’t believe for a second) this is great fun. More like this please. 8/10
