A meteorite strike gives super powers to a Neighbourhood Watch group, who soon decide to take the law into their own hands. It’s now up to Minogue and O’Leary to take the law back.

It was somewhat inevitable that the continuing interest in superhero movies would make its way into Wellington Paranormal – super powers are a paranormal phenomenon after all. What was less expected is just how they’d be manifested, and in this occasion it’s a group of very normal residents at the scene of a meteorite crash.

The powered- up team call themselves The Revengers, giving themselves names like Cat Lady, Power Man and Google Girl. The powers are not so great, and things come to a sticky end when it’s practically demonstrated that electricity and water really do not mix. Even the ever-bungling Constable Parker is affected the energy, becoming a huge magnet.

Verdict: Not your average monster, but then neither is Wellington Paranormal your average comedy show. The message this week is that with great power comes great responsibility… oh, and that thing about water and electricity. 7/10
