Empire prepares a public execution, but who truly is the power behind the throne?

As you’d hope by this stage in the season, big things are happening across the multiple locations of the Asimov universe. The spectacle of the execution of the clerics for their alleged treason doesn’t go to plan, merely setting in motion the events prophesied long before by Hari Seldon.

The distrust within the Cleon dynasty is at a point now where all three incarnations of the Emperor are in illicit/dangerous relationships, and a big revelation is made about who’s pulling the strings. While the Gaal/Salvor and the Mentalists plot is proving the least intriguing of the show’s multiple storylines, there’s movement across time and space to create interest.

Verdict: With every character engaged in major life and death moments, the show moves towards what promises to be a significant climax. 8/10
