Delegates from around the United States converge on a cereal convention in Georgia.

OK, I deliberately underplayed the plot summary above, but those who in the know… they know. Rose’s activities are starting to weaken the walls between the realms, Lyta is pregnant, and the Corinthian has ‘rescued’ Jed from his stepparents before dropping him into an even more deadly nest of vipers. He uses the young boy as bait to lure Rose to the convention, but will Gilbert be strong enough to protect her?

Collectors (Issue #14) is the issue of The Sandman where the Corinthian comes into his own, though as viewers of the show we’ve already been treated to Boyd Holbrook’s terrifying exploits as the eyeball-munching psychopath. The convention is a highlight of The Doll’s House, and as a fan of the comics I’m delighted to confirm that it’s translated perfectly from the page. From the awful attendees, to the equally sinister team running things behind the scenes, it’s convincingly the most horrific convention ever (believe me, I’ve been to a few!), though I can’t help wonder how many would have benefitted from the Corinthian being guest speaker.

Verdict: Welcome to the convention from hell. Just don’t reveal your real name or kill fellow attendees. Thrilling stuff. 9/10
