Titan Comics, out now
After narrowly escaping the Weeping Angels and the Autons in 1960s London, the Tenth and Thirteenth Doctor must team-up once again to save present-day Earth from being overrun by the Sea Devils!
Picking up from the end of the previous issue with the Tenth Doctor meeting Rose Tyler, there’s a bit of a problem… she doesn’t know who he is. Her parents Pete and Jackie are also alive, being quizzed by the Thirteenth Doctor, who’s also having no success with recognition. Time has changed, and the reason becomes apparent when Series 12 monsters the Skithra turn up. This scavenging, spider-like race previously kidnapped Nikola Tesla and this in turn has had a knock-on effect on time.
It’s refreshing to see this particular Skithra Queen being more sympathetic to the plight of humans, and as always the art is top-notch, with some beautifully created gurns and gasps for Doctor 13. Doctor 10 also gets to play our some of his famous tropes and tics, and they all end up time crashing into one another by the end.
Verdict: Not a lot of Sea Devil action this time round, focusing more on the timey-wimey elements of this fun reunion series. 7/10
