Four more adventures take hired assassin Doom four hours closer to her death.

The multi-platform Doom’s Day adventure, created as a run-up to Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary, covers off the four hours from 4pm

Whoever came up with the umbrella title for these four stories deserves a pat on the back for concocting such a wonderful Doctor Who-specific pun. Let’s assume that it was the writer Darren Jones, who across these four readings brings Doom into contact with legacy characters in a variety of locales.

In The Steel Cascade (read by Sooz Kempner) Doom is tasked with eliminating Red Gorgon and The Steel Cascade, which takes her to the deck of a cruise ship in 1966 where Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton have used their premium bonds winnings to finance. Espionage and intrigue follow, also on The Martian Dilemma (read by Jaye Griffiths) where there’s political machinations within the Ice Warrior hierarchy.

In An Ood Halloween (read by Silas Carson), Doom arrives at Halloween in San Francisco, hired to assassinate crime lord Valitch on the biggest cosplay night of the year, with Brian the Ood assassin in tow. Finally, in Dark Space (read by Kempner), Doom lands on a world with a dead sun and is greeted by the Doctor – I won’t spoil which one.

Verdict: The stories are all fine, the short run-time limiting how much can be covered, but there’s still that nagging feeling that we’re just killing time to get through the many hours that make up Doom’s final day. 4/10
