The teen campers race against time to reach the south end of the island…

The penultimate episode of the series, perhaps not surprisingly, focuses on the interrelationships between the campers for the most part – or at least in the middle, between the difficulties they have in managing to board the monorail, and then finding the train under attack. The various bits of backstory that have been shared between just one or two characters are now revealed to the whole group, and there’s a focus on Ben that foreshadows the end of the episode – and a huge tonal shift for the animated series towards that of the franchise as a whole.

The animation itself has been strong throughout – whether you like or loath the character of Bumpy, it’s been brought to life well, and the re-creations of Jurassic World and its environs has been spot on. The Pteranodon attack is well choreographed, although hands up anyone who didn’t guess who it was who was going to ride to the rescue.

Verdict: The reality of the situation is brought home to the teens in the worst possible way – but one that ups the stakes for the viewers. 8/10
