Michaela tries to get Zeke to open up more about who he is, where he came from and what his experience on the mountain was like. Ben and Grace return home with Cal to attempt to resume normal life, but a new problem arises in the guise of an internet group with a rapidly growing following who believe the 828 passengers may represent a serious threat to the world.

So, Zeke is a time-traveller too! Except he travelled a lot less into the future, wasn’t on the flight and seems a bit sketchy, with the fact that he appeared out of nowhere and doesn’t seem all that keen on explaining much about who he is or what brought him out here. Michaela elects to stay with him and try to find out more, while Ben and Grace hurry home with Cal so that he can be checked out by Saanvi.

As Michaela gradually uses her detective skills to prise away the layers of Zeke’s reticence, she suddenly comes to a stark revelation – one which Zeke has never shared with anyone and which leads to a calling they both go off to investigate. What’s impressive is that the script keeps the viewer guessing about Zeke for as long as it can without it feeling artificial. The show has established valid reasons to date for all our heroes to be a little sceptical, and that helps here.

Meanwhile, having returned home to try to resume normal life (again), the Stones find that they are the subject of attentions from some people who are convinced that there is something sinister about the return of 828 and its passengers. This of course has been exacerbated by the fact of Bill Daly having apparently stolen a plane with a hostage and then been shot down by the military (and week by week I am more and more convinced that the shooting down part never happened) and the passengers are now being touted by some internet loudmouth as a terrorist threat.

When an incident occurs that isn’t resolved to Ben’s satisfaction, he takes matters into his own hands, with predictably bad results. This is probably for the best; as much as I like Josh Dallas in this role, when he tries to come across as a tough guy it’s a little embarrassing and the show doesn’t need it.

What’s apparent is that this episode marks a sort of line in the sand for the show so far. There are indications that certain characters/relationships might be ready to move on to a new stage in their own development, and that the overarching plot might be about to take another step forward.

Verdict: Solid, intriguingly written and compulsive. I can’t wait to see where they take this next. 8/10
