Jessica 1.6Luke asks for Jessica’s help locating someone – leading to far more being revealed than she would hope…

If trust is one central plank of Jessica Jones, than truth and consequences is too: while it’s great to see Jessica and Luke working together, you know that each step forward in their hunt is leading them towards a confrontation… and I wasn’t at all sure that Jessica would do the right thing at the end and tell Luke what he may not have wanted, but certainly needed to hear. Mike Colter and Krysten Ritter have been excellent throughout this but their final scene is the best to date, so much that doesn’t need to be said still coming across loud and clear.

We’re starting to get more of a feel for Hogarth, Carrie-Ann Moss’s lawyer, and I’m sure I’m not the only one to get distinctly uneasy feelings about her interest in Hope’s aborted baby and its links to Kilgrave. And as for the villain himself – he’s beginning to realise that there are other ways to achieve his ends, and his scenes as he buys the house (for reasons that are clearly on the stalker side of the creepy equation) are as unsettling as any use of his persuasive power.

Now the truth is out there between Luke and Jessica, it’s going to be interesting to see how things unfold between them – because just at this moment, you have to agree with Luke’s assessment of our heroine…

Verdict: An unsettling and powerful episode. 8/10
