Many ways for younger fans to evoke the spirit of the fun Marvel movies…

With the launch of Vol. 2 of Guardians of the Galaxy less than three weeks away (if you’re in the UK), Disney has started to increase the amount of tie-in merchandise. The Marvel Comics from which the Guardian derive are very well dealt with by the DK guide (see our separate review here), but what else is there?

If  you want to proclaim how much “I am Groot”, then the official Groot mug says it well – it’s instantly recognisable, and if it’s a bit too big for you to use as a drinking vessel, then it does excellent double duty as a flower pot (perhaps the most appropriate use for it!). Groot perhaps unsurprisingly features in a number of items – from beanbags to dancing toys, POP! Mugs, and figurines of all sorts of shapes and sizes.

You can recreate the movie with figurines of many of the characters, as well as plushes (the Star-Lord one is quite unusual!) while LEGO sets and puzzles will keep youngsters happy. And of course, there’s a blaster set – two guns to keep the battles flowing – and a water bottle for the breaks.

There are one or two spoilers for the film if you go through all the figurine listings, but nothing that is likely to put young fans off for a moment – at the moment the characters will just be cool new toys.

All the items are available via high street retailers.
