Zack Snyder’s next movie will be an epic SF tale, Rebel Moon.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that the Army of the Dead director will be heading to outer space for the movie. The story begins when a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. Desperate people dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighbouring planets to help them make a stand.

Snyder credits his love of Kurosawa and the Star Wars movies for the idea (which developed from a Star Wars pitch he made some time ago). He’s co-writing the script with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad,
