One of the many seriously interesting trailers arriving from SDCC… Alasdair hits the road with It Ends.

0.04 – Perfect Endless

I love how the road surface is so smooth. I wonder if the tracks we can make out are a set up for them having tracked up and down here much longer than they remember.

0.21 – ‘This feels like design.’

THERE IT IS. Sometimes, with horror movies especially, you get one line in the trailer where the hooks go all the way in. If you want another example, and insects don’t frighten you, Mira Sorvino’s delivery of the line ‘Peter, these are LUNGS’ in the trailer for Mimic does this too.

0.22 – Figures in the Woods

Hard to make out but there’s four people running towards them and they look to be in the clothes we see the car passengers in. Is this a time loop? Are multiple versions of them on the road?

0.22 – Five?

At least five bodies in the woods, one of which is definitely moving. Hard to make out but again, they look similarly dressed…

0.26 – Chase?

There’s our five people. But it looks a lot like the two in the front of the background are being chased by the two at the back…

0.48 – Primal Scream

Got to love a movie where people are in touch with their emotions.

1.05 – ‘Maybe it’s a forest full of people James has been a dick to.’
‘Maybe it’s a forest full of people I’ve GIVEN dick to.’
‘It would be a barren forest.’
‘I definitely wouldn’t fucking be here.’

Firstly, love the tone shift to darkly lighthearted in the second half. Secondly, confirmation of lots of folks in the woods. Thirdly this exchange is great.

1.13 – Montage

We get a flash of three people in the car, confirming these are our protagonists (and making the chase earlier look all the more likely). Intriguingly, at one point their names and date of birth are written on the head rests. See JAMES Y, 12/28/1997 here.

1.35 – The car is swarmed

My dupes theory stands, just about. I’m seeing two people with similar long hair, two people with similar jackets and two people with similar T-shirts and jeans, moving in pairs.
