A new version of Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH is in preparation for the Fox network.
Deadline reports that Fox Entertainment and MGM’s Orion Television are working on the series which will be based on the original Robert C. O’Brien novel, and his daughter’s two sequels to it, rather than the 1982 Don Bluth movie. The suggestion is that this will be an event series.
The books follow mouse Mrs. Frisby, a mouse, who in an effort to save her family goes on a spectacular journey through an unfamiliar and underground world to discover a colony of escaped super-intelligent lab rats who help her to relocate her home before the ploughs and exterminators arrive.
Fox is expanding its animation with the new Krapopolis series from Dan Harmon also underway for a 2022 launch, based on Greek mythology.
