Joseph Batalon will star in the new Syfy series Reginald the Vampire, based on the Fat Vampire book series by Johnny B. Truant.

The actor, who plays Ned Leeds in the Sony Spider-Man movies, will take the lead in the 10 episode series, according to THR. Caught in a world populated by beautiful, fit and vain vampires Reginald is an unlikely hero who will have to navigate every kind of obstacle — the girl he loves but can’t be with, a bully manager at work and the vampire chieftain who wants him dead. Fortunately, Reginald discovers he has a few powers of his own.

Harley Peyton is adapting and showrunning the series.
