b7-leadsIsaac Asimov’s I, Robot is being dramatised for Radio 4 by B7 Media, with five daily episodes starting on February 6th at 10.45 a.m.

The rise of robotics in the 21st century is told through the poignant and mysterious story of enigmatic lawyer, Stevie Byerley. As a child, Stevie is raised by Robbie, a robotic childminder, because her parents are too busy working. The powerful bond she forms with the robot is unbreakable. Their relationship will change the course of Stevie’s life.

Hermione Norris stars as Stevie, with Derek Riddell as George Byerley, Dianne Weller as Grace Byerley, Kelly Burke as Robbie, Rob Blackwood as the Tour Guide and Mia Burgess as Young Stevie, with Brendan Coyle, Nicholas Briggs, Michael Cochrane and Corrinne Wicks.

Asimov’s original stories have been adapted by Richard Kurti, and the series is produced and directed by Andrew Mark Sewell, with music by Imran Ahmed and sound design by Alistair Lock.

The series will be repeated in an omnibus on Saturday February 11th.
