Experience Psycho with live orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall

170623_psycho_webAlfred Hitchcock’s Psycho is one of a number of genre films coming to Southbank over the next few months with live orchestra as part of the Film Scores Live programme.

The classic horror movie will screen as part of a weekend dedicated to the legendary director. Psycho will be shown on June 23, 2017 with the spine-chilling soundtrack performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Robert Ziegler; organist David Briggs plays a live, improvised soundtrack to Hitchcock’s silent film The Lodger  on June 24 and the London premiere screening of Hitchcock’s Vertigo with live orchestral accompaniment, will be performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra and conducted by Jessica Cottis  on June 25.

Two months earlier, the London Sinfonietta will perfrm Mica Levi’s BAFTA-Award winning score for Jonathan Glazer’s Under the Skin on April 4. Other films in the series include Napoleon on November 6, 2016; The Battle of the Somme on November 18; There Will Be Blood on January 30 and Brief Encounter on Valentine’s Day.
