Jeff Nichols will be writing and directing Fox’s remake of Alien Nation, according to a report at Deadline.
Nichols is currently premiering his civil rights movie Loving at the Toronto Film Festival. He recently received acclaim for his genre movie Midnight Special.
Alien Nation was written by Farscape creator Rockne S. O’Bannon and was directed by Graham Baker. It spawned a one-season TV show which itself led to various TV movies and spin-off novels. James Caan and Mandy Patinkin starred in the movie; Gary Graham and Eric Pierpoint took the roles in the sequel show.
