RIP Batman the Movie director Leslie Martinson

batman_1966Leslie Martinson, who directed numerous episodes of genre shows as well as the 1966 Batman movie, died on September 3rd aged 101.

Among his hundreds of credits were episodes of Topper, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman, The Green Hornet, Mission: Impossible, Wonder Woman, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Fantasy Island, The Powers of Matthew Starr, Manimal and Airwolf. Born in Boston, he started as a newspaper writer before going to work for MGM before moving to NBC as a script supervisor. He started directing television in 1952 and continued until he retired in the late 1980s.
