US viewers hoping to be able to binge-watch the new Star Trek series on CBS All Access are likely to be out of luck.
CBS chair Les Moonves revealed that although the series is being premiered on a streaming service, like Netflix or Amazon, the episodes will be released once a week, rather than all at once.
Talking to analysts in his quarterly report, he confirmed that the show is on course for its January 2017 premiere. As noted on SFB a couple of weeks ago, the show will be filming in Toronto. At present, no casting has been announced, nor confirmation of the rumours of it either being set between Star Trek VI and The Next Generation (The Lost Era, mined by Pocket Books’ series of Star Trek fiction), or an “anthology” show.
