CujoIt seems as if the long-gestating remake of Cujo is finally heading towards production, with news of a change in title that suggests that the movie is going to stray far from its roots in Stephen King’s novel.

Possibly taking a leaf out of the revamped Sherlock series’ book, Cujo will now be called C.U.J.O. – the acronym standing for Canine Unit Joint Operations. The internet database IMDb now lists it as Cujo: Canine Unit Joint Operation. The movie will be directed by producer Lang Elliott, and will star DJ Perry in an as yet unspecified role. Chances are he won’t be playing the large slobbering rabies-infected St Bernard at the centre of the tale!

The original Cujo movie was directed by Lewis Teague, and King allowed screenwriters Don Carlos Dunaway and Lauren Currier to change the ending from the novel.
