Both of CBS’ summer SF series are coming back next year, with renewals confirmed for the Stephen King-based Under the Dome and the Halle Berry starrer Extant.
Despite a drop in audiences from its first year and criticism of the many changes made in the second season, Under the Dome was still CBS’ best performing drama show with 11 million viewers. Extant wasn’t as successful in the ratings, but performed well enough for the network. Both shows also benefitted from pre-sales to Amazon’s streaming service.
Under the Dome‘s second season is currently running on Channel 5 in the UK; Extant can be viewed on Amazon Prime.

Sadly, this show’s premise always was a one-line idea with no place to go. Wanna have bigger plot possibilities? Get rid of the dome. Problem solved.
